Too Much Monkey Business

Nice to see that rather marvellous band Dead Sea Apes  have a busy few months ahead of them……here is a synopsis of a recent blog of theirs…..

They have the following gigs booked for the remainder of this year:

Firstly, they’re taking part in SONGS FOR JANE, a benefit for Brain Tumour Research in memory of Jane Howden. It’s at West Street Live in Sheffield, on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August, with live music from 3 till 11 pm, and DJs till 2am.  They wi’ll be playing at about 7:45, and also have an exclusive track on the special compilation album which will be available at this event.

Next month, on 22nd September they willl be in Liverpool, at Mello Mello for Newpath Live –details here.

After that they have got two support gigs which will be really special:  on 21st of October they are playing  with Californian psych-rockers Carlton Melton at Hebden Bridge Trades Club (courtesy of Was Ist Das?) ; and then on 9th of November they are back in Manchester opening for Agitation Free at Moho Live.

Details of all these on the bands gigs page.

On the recording front, they are putting the finishing touches to the first volume of collaborations with Black Tempest, in addition there is what is described by the band as “an explosive live recording” of Bikini Atoll on the forthcoming Cardinal Fuzz sampler, and they are also busy working on some new material for both the live set and future releases.

I am playing a track from the Astral House release on this weeks Aural Delights Radio Show.
