Somewhere there’s a light on……..

With a new a line-up Soul Saboteur moves on from “Clip Your Wings” retaining the blue eyed soul rock which characterises their output but with perhaps a more controlled feel. With only Jason Griffiths remaining on drums from the first EP James Stone has rung the changes in the bass – Andrew Hall – and lead guitar – Carl Morgan-Peters  – departments. And it’s in the latter area that the band has developed with Carl playing with the tune and building on it’s structure, and adding to the composition.

A great soul ballad with the usual stunning vocal from “Stonie” ….. the new single demonstrates positive development for a band which sets the bar high for its contemporaries and cements their position as the leading outfit in this genre in the North West. I will be featuring the song this weeks Aural Delights Podcast.

Recorded at West Orange Recording Studio in Preston, it was engineered, mixed and mastered by Alan Gregson who has had success working with many artists including Cornershop (5 albums, 1 gold record single), multi-platinum-selling singer Russell Watson, Badly Drawn Boy (2 Singles), Rick Guard (international hit single), and platinum-selling opera singer Jon Christos.

Alan Gregson brings his production expertise to Soul Saboteur, and also guests on keyboards for this single.

The single is available from digital stores worldwide.

Recommended for lovers of soul/blues rock.
