Salford Music Festival Preview 5 – Additional News

As expected there have been some changes to the Festival line up including the addition of the Duke of York in Eccles Town Centre to the roster. Also Ed advises that some of the venues will have to be ticketed due to licensing rules so watch this space…..and check out the SMF website on a regular basis…..

So some new things to draw to your attention:

  • A great line up for 28th September at the Duke of York in Eccles includes Aural Delights faves Exchange plus Conquer Rio (who I have also featured before) and Luna Marada (who I hadn’t heard until today but checking them out they seem pretty damn fine – nice funky sound and a very good bass player).
  • Salford Music Festival are running a song writing competition with the theme of LOAN SHARKS. As part of a wider campaign being co-ordinated in Salford entrants can optionally bring in the following themes: Raising the awareness of the dangers of using ‘loan sharks’, Promoting legal, affordable alternatives, Promoting financial management/budgeting to prevent people from using loan sharks, and Preventing crime and disorder and promoting the stop loan sharks message, The winning song entry will be chosen by a celebrity panel. The chosen entry will win a high quality HD video produced and directed that will be shown on and shared on social media sites around the UK as well as press, radio and other media sites. Go here for more information.
  • SMF T shirts now available from the Tourist Information Centre at the Lowry
  • STOP PRESS – The Suzuki Method/Words Escape Me/Death to the Strange/The Minx gig on the 27th is now at Islington Mill.
